Considerations on Sunday Mexican Elections
Today I would like to talk about the incoming Mexican Election that will take place on Sunday.
Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador may win this time. Mexicans are fed up with the system and they will likely deliver a voto de castigo this weekend.
The current administration has not done enough to improve the wellbeing of Mexicans and there has not been any improvement on tackling the problem of widespread corruption of the country.
On top of that, Mr Pena Nieto promised an average growth of 6% during his tenure, but as you can see from the chart below, the reality has been a different story
Mr Obrador has historically been popular in the south; he comes from the state of Tabasco. He has never been very popular on the border states, like Chihuahua or Nuevo Leon, but this has changed during the last years.
As you can see from the chart below, the northern states and the middle to high end of society is more open to support and vote for Mr Obrador this time.
Let's see on Sunday who will win the election.
